Another Award for the Diabolicals to Cringe At >:D

Greetings!  We’re to celebrate another grand award given to the Diabolicals for who-knows-why reasons!  😀

Fluffy Facts!

  1. Let’s start with the username.  Because that’s random, right?!  Okay, so, way back in the day, when I was young and hip and edgy, I got my hair cut super short, but still stylishly short.  I think they called it a pixie cut.  I really have no idea.  Like this: Except she wears it a hellava lot better than I did.  ANYWHO!  So, I had short hair, and I gelled it each morning because I was THAT person.  And then I moved to a desert where the sun reacted with the gel I used and bleached my whole head of hair platinum blonde (I’m a dark brunette naturally).  I had to stop gelling my hair, but ungelled it would just float up around my head.  My sister started calling me “Dandelion”, because…you know:
    dandelionThis then was converted into Fluffy as my normal hair color was restored (over many years).  I never gelled again, and so my shortish hair (I let it grow out a tad) is still “Fluffy”.  The “Mao” part comes from the fact that whenever someone asked me my opinion, I used to be completely caught off-guard and unprepared and, apparently, incapable of English, so I would say “Erm, uh, MAO!”  Cuz I is da smart.  Does this count as 2 random facts?  I think this counts as 2 random facts…>.>
  2. I started taking college courses when I was 12.  It’s taken me over a decade to get two bachelor degrees.
  3. I’m going on 24 and still have no idea how to drive a car.  PEDESTRIAN 4 LYFE!  😀
  4. I have almost 2 dozen aunts and uncles (taking into account both sides of the family). I have met maybe 6, and almost all of them have children.  Cousins?  Uncountably infinite.
  5. My favorite color tends to change rather frequently.  Thus, I pretty much like all colors.
  6. I’m the tallest person in my immediate family.
  7. I can name the 50 states of the USA (in alphabetical order and with capitols), but have no idea where they are in relation to each other.  And let’s just forgo completely the WORLD’S geography!

      It just means I started specializing way before I should have. I focused completely on mathematics and so am well behind everyone else in EVERYTHING else. Typically we teach children many different subjects because their brains are better at catching broad topics and linking things together, and they learn basics much faster. Then, once we’re older (about 16), our brains start to specialize, latching onto the specific things we find interesting. Our brain starts to prune away everything we no longer use regularly. We lose the ability to link together broad, abstract notions, but gain the ability to focus, along with a foundation in everything else, just in case we need it (basic grammar, general geography, basic mathematics, etc.). I never got that basic foundation and now I’m of the age where its really hard to learn something completely new (build a foundation from scratch). I don’t understand the fundamentals of grammar or the general history of the world. I only know what I’ve studied. It’s a trade-off: I’m really good at one thing, but suck at everything else.

      1. Ahhh… Yeh. That’s really interesting. It had never really occurred to me what would happen if one started to specialise their education quite early, but that makes a lot of sense. I can definately see both the pros and cons. Hmmm…. *contemplates many things *

  3. I’m so late to this but thank you for the nomination and also I’m really impressed by the states thing holy crap. Also hey I once got a pixie cut and I live where it’s super humid in summer + I have thick hair so it wasn’t exactly uh great either. XD

      The states thing is a song, and I added in the capitals because I was that one weird kid. XD
      I have a LOT of hair. A LOT! It just doesn’t look like it and I don’t actually suffer too much from “frizzy” hair. It’s just super fluffy and soft. Which isn’t something to complain about. XD
